Revoking trade pacts would be a precursor to war, and could cripple someone with large armies dependent on the trade pact. Here is what I think we would need to flesh out the strategy fullyįor example a trade pact could decrease upkeep. There needs to be actual campaigns, not a quick and clean war of capture by a couple of UBERstacks. Strategically this makes the game better, in pvp less of an emphasis on battle and more of an emphasis on political and economic move and countermove cuts down the time 6 ppl are watching 2 ppl fight. Politics, economics, seiges and raiding should all take place before a pitched battle ever occurs. Battles should not be the first weapon that players use against one another. There needs to be supply lines, and strategy and lots of thinking that goes into managing an empire, not merely running a war. Although this is all well and good, there does need to be weak spots to hit a lategame enemy with other than just their cities. There is alot of seperate spells and moves and abilities but there is a massive disconnect between economy and military mid and lategame. It seems to me that the political aspect and the economic complexity aspect in aow3 is lacking. In game of thrones there is the political aspect as well as the army aspect.

It boils down to power, and in aow3 power other than military power is underrepresented. There is also a whole bunch of magical spells and damage flavours and it really seems to me to be more harry potterish than game of throne like.

For example there is no great overarching NEED to cast warding glyhps. Right now, we have alot of magic and alot of abilities but they are not cohesively linked.
